Floor Sanding Services

All of our prices include a full sanding of existing floor boards. The standard sanding process will consist of three stages; a rough, medium and fine sand to strip, level, and smooth the boards, leaving a high quality finish.

Gap Filling - Narrow gaps and small imperfections are filled using a solvent based resin. Wider gaps are dealt with by inserting narrow 'fillets' then filled as above.

Staining - Once the floor is sanded and filled, staining takes place if required. The colour you choose will have the biggest impact on the appearance of the finished floor. If you can provide us with an example of the colour you would like, for example from a magazine or a piece of furniture you own, we will try to match it as closely as we can. Please see our FAQs for more information about staining.

Sealing - Finally, the floor needs to be sealed to protect it. The variety of products on the market is enormous. The two most popular choices are either a water-based polyurethane lacquer or a hard-wax oil. Both are available in a variety of finishes. We are always happy to discuss the pros and cons of these and other seals with you and help you decide which best suits your needs and taste.

We also offer a range of other services to complement the basic sanding and finishing process, including floorboard replacement, hearth removal, and carpet removal, amongst others.
