Floor Fitting Services

BMB offers a comprehensive floor fitting service. When choosing a solid wooden floor, there is a huge variety available, from a straightforward, pre-finished example (as seen in most DIY superstores), to one-off, bespoke finished antique floors (costing hundreds of pounds per square metre). Variants include tongue and groove or plank, fixed length or random length, oiled or laquered, parquet blocks, etc. We have extensive knowledge of all options available, where to source these products, and the options when it comes to fitting or finishing.

In addition, we can carry out all necessary sub-floor preparation. Procedures and products such as joist repairs, self-leveling screed and liquid DPMs (Damp Proof Membranes), while unseen, can mean the difference between success and failure in a flooring project. Problems such as cupping or lifting don't usually manifest themselves until several weeks or months after the floor has been fitted. Correct sub-floor preparation is vital in ensuring a trouble free installation.

Finally, BMB can carry out a maintenance schedule for your floor, to keep it looking its best and to ensure it lasts a lifetime. A lighter, more frequent schedule of treatment is often better value in the long term than a less frequent, more intense approach (a full sand for example). In particular, if a floor has been oiled it will need careful maintenance to keep it looking fresh. We are also happy to carry out restoration or maintenance on wooden floors fitted by a third party.
